The Falcons are well represented at this year’s NFL Honors. We spoke with Salute to Service award winner Ben Garland Womens Matt Bryant Jersey , Walter Payton Man of the Year finalist Grady Jarrett, and head coach Dan Quinn on the red carpet about the event and the awards. Garland, an Air Force Academy graduate and a captain in the Air National Guard, was honored with the eighth-annual Salute to Service Award presented by USAA. Garland said that aside from the great honor of receiving this particular award, he was excited to attend the event with both of his brothers. “To experience this with them is an incredible experience,” Garland said. “I mean, you dream about doing something like this as a little kid, and you get to experience it with your family, it’s even better.” Jarrett was up for the Walter Payton Man of the Year award. “I’m here to enjoy a good time and see some good players get rewarded, and also see who comes out on top of the Man of the Year stuff. I’m just here enjoying the time, enjoying the Brotherhood, and seeing how it goes,” Jarrett said. Chris Long of the Eagles won the Walter Payton Man of the Year award (and I spoke with him, too) Womens att Bosher Jersey , but we’re proud of all of the things Jarrett does to serve his community. We’re not the only ones. I caught up with Dan Quinn, who was proud of Garland and Jarrett and the selfless ways they serve others. Quinn, who makes giving back to our military and veterans a top personal priority, was excited for Garland. “I’m really proud of (Ben) and all of his teammates,” Quinn said. “There’s so many of the guys on our team have a way to give back to the community. I thought, what a great guy to recognize in Ben, all that he wants to do for the military and has been a part of. So we’re all really proud of him.” Quinn was also pleased for Jarrett, and especially proud of the ways he’s seen him grow as a leader since being drafted by the Falcons in 2014. “I think he’s shown leadership ever since the day I first met him, and that was probably at the Combine or a workout up at Clemson,” Quinn said. “He’s always had those traits to him, and now that has also moved to off the field, where he’s had leadership within the community. So I think that’ll continue to grow through the years, but he’s really an impressive guy.” NFL Honors airs this evening on NFL Network starting at 9 p.m. ET. Tyson Chandler did it again. Two games after saving the day in Los Angeles’ narrow 114-110 win against Minnesota, Chandler came to the rescue to deny Trae Young’s potential game-tying layup in a one-point win over the Hawks on Monday. Young got the step on Brandon Ingram and threw a floater toward the heavens with time expiring in regulation. Chandler came from the opposite side and rejected the layup at the buzzer. Game , Lakers. The Lakers acquired Chandler after the Suns bought-out his contract last week, and they haven’t looked back since. Los Angeles is undefeated, having won three in a row since signing the veteran big man to a minimum free agent contract. The Lakers are 7-6 after starting the season 0-3. They’re a team that has had new life breathed into it.LeBron James is especially excited to have Chandler on the team.“He’s huge,” James told reporters after the game. “We had a spot that needed some reassurance, and for us to be able to get Tyson in the fashion that we got him and to be able to implement him right away — and the impact that he’s made in three games so far? It’s great.”That’s because Chandler bailed him out, againThe Lakers built a lead as big as 15 points and held it with 1:16 to go in the third quarter. In the blink of an eye, Los Angeles squandered it: At the 10:16 mark in the fourth, Atlanta cut the deficit to just three, and the Hawks took their first lead of the second half with 5:26 to go.What should have been a blowout victory over a lesser opponent morphed into a dramatic fight to the finish with Young, Kent Bazemore, and Taurean Prince leading Atlanta’s charge. The game actually may have gone to overtime had Bazemore not picked up an awful technical foul with 1:34 to go.But he did, and Kyle Kuzma hit the free throw to give the Lakers a 105-104 lead. Then, Vince Carter cut for an open dunk, because Vince can still dunk at 41 years old. It all culminated with LeBron James at the foul line with two free-throw attempts to tie the game and/or take the lead. There was a third option: miss both free throws. Unfortunately Womens Desmond Trufant Jersey , that’s the option James succumbed to.James also missed both free throws with a one-point overtime lead in an Oct. 22 matchup against San Antonio. The Spurs won that game after Patty Mills hit a game-winning shot that James was unable to respond to.This tim
